Support Sunday Pose by Pose Spotlight — Week 10 Supported Bridge (with block)

Image
A gentler, longer hold version of Bridge—emphasizing release over strength Welcome back to Support Sunday ! We’re in Cycle Two: Soft Strength & Release , where each week brings another small gift of rest and gentle power. Last week we softened into Reclined Bound Angle Pose, and today we shift into a restorative version of Bridge. Instead of lifting and holding with effort, we’ll rest on support—learning that sometimes, release is the deepest form of strength. 🧘‍♀️ How to do it: Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet hip-width apart, close to your hips. Press into your feet and gently lift your hips a few inches. Slide a yoga block (or a stack of folded towels/pillows) under your sacrum. Let your hips settle onto the block, arms resting at your sides, palms up. Relax your jaw, soften your belly, and breathe deeply. 🕊️ Duration: Stay supported for 1 2–15 minutes . Focus on slow, expansive breaths. Feel your pelvic floor soften with each e...

Fitness Friday: What’s in the Tote—The Yoga Mom Diaper Bag

Image
We’ve talked about Beyond the VDL—Layers of Confidence for the Yoga Mom Life . But sometimes, confidence isn’t just about what you wear—it’s about what you carry. Enter my trusty yoga mom tote. 💜 For those of us who live in diapers, a well-packed bag isn’t just convenience—it’s confidence. Knowing I’ve got everything I need means I can walk into class (or out to coffee after) without a second thought. 1. Pack Smart, Not Heavy Diapers & plastic pants : Always at least one full change, tucked neatly in a pouch or discreet wet bag. Wipes & powder : Baby powder spray for quick refreshes, wipes for comfort. Legging saver : A spare pair in case sweat or leaks happen. 2. Make It Yours Your tote doesn’t have to scream “diaper bag.” Mine is soft, stylish, and carries the scent of my Bois de Balincourt perfume. It feels like part of my outfit—just as essential as leggings and scrunchies. 3. Cover & Camouflage Here’s a trick: slinging the tote across one hip doubles as natu...

Wardrobe Wednesday - Tall Travelers Rejoice: Yoga Pants That Actually Fit

Image
I try to put a bit of effort into my airport looks — sometimes it’s a drapey linen pant, sometimes a stretchy pair of leggings, but on long-haul flights, nothing beats yoga pants. The problem? At 6’4” (or anywhere above 5’9”, really), standard inseams just don’t cut it. They ride up mid-calf when you sit down, they shorten in the wash, and they never quite give that sleek line you want. Thankfully, I’ve found two brands that consistently make tall-friendly yoga pants that don’t leave ankles exposed: Old Navy and Yogipace . These extended-inseam options prove that comfort and polish can go hand in hand — no hemming required. And the best part? They fit and look good even with my puff — which means I can travel comfortably, stay padded, and still step off the plane feeling pulled together. Old Navy Extra High-Waisted CloudComfy Boot-Cut Leggings Price range: $35–$40 Ultra-soft and stretchy, made for movement. The extra high waist smooths and stays put when traveling. Boot...
