Support Sunday Pose by Pose Spotlight — Week 1 Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana) Held. Lifted. Supported.

Welcome to the very first Support Sunday—a gentle weekly spotlight on yoga poses that offer strength from the inside out.

Whether you live with incontinence, are healing your pelvic floor, or simply need a moment to ground yourself in softness, this space is for you. Each week, I’ll share a pose that has helped me feel more at home in my body—and more empowered in my path. We’re starting slow, safe, and beautifully supported… with Bridge Pose. πŸ’œ

🧘‍♀️ 1. Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana)

How to do it:

Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet planted about hip-width apart. Let your arms rest beside you, palms facing down. As you press into your feet, gently lift your hips up toward the sky. Let the strength come from your thighs and your core—especially the sweet little muscles deep inside your pelvis.

Duration:

Hold for 5–10 soft breaths. You can lower slowly, rest, and repeat 2–3 times if it feels good.

Note:

“As you lift, think of your hips like rising sunshine—gentle, warm, and glowing with strength.”

This pose nurtures your pelvic floor and core muscles, helping you feel supported from the inside out. It’s especially gentle and helpful for those of us who wear diapers, use pads, or live with any form of bladder or bowel leakage. Bridge Pose reminds us that we can still lift, still glow, still rise.

πŸ’– Closing Reflection

Support isn’t just physical. It’s emotional, spiritual, and communal.
And here—on the mat, in the softness of this practice—you are not alone.

If you tried Bridge Pose today, I’d love to hear how it felt. Share your reflections in the comments, or tag me @AliceInYogaPants with #SupportSunday if you feel safe sharing your practice.

You deserve to be:
Held. Lifted. Supported.

With love and softness,
—Alice 🌸
