Wardrobe Wednesday: Boxwood Wine, Lip Gloss Shine, and the Tote of My Dreams

“Boxwood Wine. Lip Gloss Shine. The tote that carries it all—and me.”

Sometimes confidence isn’t loud—it just glides. A swipe of lip gloss, the right yoga pants, and a tote waiting to carry the little pieces of who I am.

Today’s look had purpose:

  • Boxwood Wine yoga pants, snug and supportive over my protection

  • A matching activewear top under a fitted black ribbed tank

  • Cropped black jacket, unzipped for just the right hint of layering

  • MAC Snobbish lip gloss for that soft, shiny finish

  • Hair neat, heart fluttering with that just-enough boldness to keep me moving

I walked through Southpoint Mall like I had somewhere important to be—because I did. Lululemon was my destination, but really, it was just the altar at the end of my little runway.

The salesgirl spotted me instantly and lit up.

“Well look at you, already for yoga! What can I do for you today?”

My heart swelled. That’s the moment I live for—to be noticed, accepted, even quietly celebrated.

We chatted, and in no time, I found it: a black puffy nylon tote—roomy, sleek, and just polished enough to slip into any scene. Over my shoulder, it didn’t just hold my essentials—lip gloss, wipes, a spare change—it held my day together.

Before leaving, I caught my reflection. The tote swung with my steps, my padded yoga pants moved like they belonged there, and for once, I wasn’t second-guessing. I was just… Alice.

I stopped for an iced coffee on the way out. Sitting there, tote resting at my side, people passed—some smiled, some lingered—and I didn’t shrink. I sipped, I shimmered, I belonged.
